Forgotten Book Challenge!

Forgotten Book Challenge!

Share Hope. Inspire Recovery. One Book at a Time.

In celebration of National Recovery Month this September, Al-Anon groups are invited to participate in the Forgotten Book Challenge—a simple community outreach project that spreads hope one book at a time.

The Challenge: Each member is encouraged to purchase at least one One Day At A Time (ODAT) book and intentionally “forget” it in a public place where someone who may be struggling can unexpectedly discover a message of hope, encouragement, and recovery.Whether it’s left in a Little Free Library, doctor’s office, coffee shop, park bench, or community center, one book has the potential to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Book Pricing: Individual book: $13 • Case of 24 books: $234 ($9.75 per book) Groups are encouraged to order a case together to reduce the cost per participant.

Timeline: August 1–14: Groups collect orders and payments from members. Mid-August
• Books are ordered. First Week of September • Books are distributed to participating groups. Throughout September (National Recovery Month) • Members leave their ODAT books throughout the community.

Why Participate? The Forgotten Book Challenge is an opportunity to extend the Al-Anon  message beyond the meeting room. A single book can provide hope, comfort, and encouragement to someone facing the effects of alcoholism or addiction—perhaps at the exact moment they need it most.

Together, we can: help celebrate National Recovery Month by sharing hope; increase awareness of recovery resources in our communities; reach individuals and families affected by substance use and mental health challenges; demonstrate that recovery is possible—one day at a time.

Group Challenge: How many ODAT books can your group “forget” in the community this Recovery Month?Together, let’s spread hope—one book at a time.
