Tradition Seven

Contributions & Self-Support

Al-Anon’s Tradition Seven
“Every group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”

While contributions cover each group’s rent and other expenses, the Seventh Tradition is essential at every level of Al-Anon service. It is both a privilege and a responsibility for groups and members to ensure that not only their group, but all service levels remain self-supporting. This keeps Al-Anon free of outside influences that might divert us from our primary purpose of supporting families and friends of alcoholics.

In keeping with Al-Anon’s Tradition Seven, Al-Anon Family Groups of Southeast Wisconsin is self-supporting, accepting contributions only from Al-Anon members and declining outside contributions.

Al-Anon members may contribute to Al-Anon Family Groups of Southeast Wisconsin (aka the Al-Anon Service Center) through:

Venmo (@Al-AnonSEWisconsin)
Al-Anon Family Groups of Southeast Wisconsin can now accept Venmo payments — including Seventh Tradition payments. For members who have not used the Venmo App, you can find information online. The Venmo app is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
